The news is filled with stories of doom and gloom for the marine realm, with coral reefs serving as the poster child for tales of ecosystem losses. However, the story of coral reefs is not that simple, and a broad view of global reef environments is revealing many opportunities for optimism. Dr. Sandin and his colleagues have been visiting some of the most remote coral reefs of the world, gaining unprecedented views into the workings of these imperiled ecosystems. Join Dr. Sandin for an engaging evening filled with adventure and inquiry, as he describes their efforts to use ecological discoveries to conserve and to restore the coral reefs of the world.
