Escape from the day-to-day hustle and bustle and get in that Saturday morning workout, all while taking in the flora, fauna and scenic ocean views with fellow UCSD alumni on a hike in Crystal Cove State Park. The route we will take will be approximately 5 miles round-trip (beginner/moderate), and should last about 2 hours. Join us for the whole hike, or just a part. Make sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen and snacks if desired. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes for hiking. We will let you know the exact hike meet up location in the confirmation email. After the hike, we’ll head to Pacific Whey Caf & Bakery in the Crystal Cove Promenade shopping center to refuel.
Can't make the hike? Join us for lunch at noon at Pacific Whey Caf & Bakery, 7962 East Coast Highway, Newport Coast.
Guests are welcome to join in the hike and/or lunch.
The starting point is the entrance of Crystal Cove Park at the end Ridge Park Rd. in Newport Coast. To get there from the 405, take Culver toward the ocean. Make a left on Newport Coast Drive. A few miles up the hill, make a left on Ridge Park Road. The entrance to Crystal Cove Park will be where Ridge Park dead-ends into East Coastal Peak.
