first year on the job, head coach Nate Garcia, ’00, has led the men’s cross country team to the NCAA National Championships after its third-place finish at the NCAA Division II West Region Championships in early November. Close Call: The UCSD women’s volleyball team went to their 26th NCAA Postseason Tournament with a 19-7 regular season record. Sylvia Schmidt, Marshall ’10, pictured right, helped lead the Tritons to a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind victory against No. 2 Cal State San Bernardino on October 27.
