EVENT DETAILS:
Professor Maurizio Seracini, '73, is referred to in Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code” as the Italian art diagnostician “who unveiled the unsettling truth” about Da Vinci's work. Last fall, UCSD alumnus Seracini revealed even more unsettling truths when he published two years of research on Da Vinci’s “Adoration of the Magi” and showed Da Vinci drawings unseen for over 500 years.
Join us for a fascinating evening with Maurizio Seracini and hear how he uncovered Da Vinci drawings unseen for 500 years. Seracini will show these startling new images and reveal how he used cutting edge technology to find them. In late March, this work will be part of a major exhibit in Florence, mounted by the Uffizi Gallery and the Museum of Science, titled “The Mind of Da Vinci.”
A coffee and dessert reception will follow the presentation.
Parking is $3 unless you have a UCSD permit. Please enter off North Torrey Pines Road onto North Point Drive and stop at the Visitor Information Center to obtain your parking permit. Then follow the signs to lot P502.
Although this event is sold out, you can still tune in via live Webcast beginning at 6:55pm on Feb. 2nd. View it using Realplayer: http://rpvss.ucsd.edu:8080/ramgen/encoder/archive/seracini.rm (This link will be inactive until that time.)
Shortly after the live event, you can watch it on-demand at: http://rpvss.ucsd.edu:8080/ramgen/calit2/seracini.rm
