Before you're presented with a job offer, it's a good idea to
do some
research on what the average salary is for a recent graduate
within your
specified field. The Career Services Center continuously compiles
a
listing, and there's good resources online through employment
portals,
as well as sites pertaining to your field. Besides salary, be
sure to
ask about other forms of compensation, such as medical/dental
benefits,
401k plans, and stock purchase plans. If you're fortunate enough
to
have offers from multiple companies, you should compare and contrast
these "extras". Although salary can negotiated to some
extent, benefit
plans don't change.
